Reading school fees: the costs people miss

ทีม FindEdu · 18/05/2026

Two schools with “the same tuition” can have very different real costs, because tuition is only one slice of the total.

Costs that rarely sit on the price tag

  • Registration / entrance fee (one-time but large)
  • Deposit / insurance
  • Uniforms, supplies, books
  • Transport, lunch
  • Activities, field trips, language camps
  • Assessment fees / international-programme charges

Think in “multi-year cost”

Don’t look at year one only. Project 3–6 years including the annual increase (many schools raise 5–10% per year). The total is often far from the first impression.

Questions to ask plainly

  • The all-in annual total for the exact grade your child will enter
  • Average yearly increase over the last 3 years
  • Any other mandatory charges beyond tuition
  • Scholarships, sibling discounts or instalments
  • Can you get a written cost breakdown

On FindEdu the tuition range shown is a reference for initial comparison — always confirm the real figure with the school, and use Match to filter by your budget.
